Everyday Essentials: My Favorite Perfume Oils

Did you know that your skin is your largest organ? As such, it's important to consider what you put ON your body, as well as what you put IN it. I'm not a fan of commercial perfumes - in part because they often get their scents from synthetic ingredients rather than natural ones. And the scents are so strong - overwhelming to the olfactory system! (Think about it...do you really want to put that chemical shitstorm on your skin?) I prefer soft scents and natural ingredients, so I use certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils + unscented lotion instead of perfume. Here are a few of my favorites:

Whisper: This is my #1 oil blend to use as perfume - it's soft, it's sweet, it's musky - and it combines with the wearer's body chemistry to create a beautiful and unique personal fragrance. Ingredients include Bergamot Peel, Ylang Ylang Flower, Patchouli Leaf, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Jasmine Flower Absolute, Cinnamon Bark, Labdanum, Vetiver Root, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Cocoa Bean Absolute, and Rose Flower essential oils in a base of Fractionated Coconut Oil. (I ALWAYS get comments re. how good I smell when I'm wearing this blend!)

Passion: This blend is spicy, warm, and rich - perfect for days when I'm in a particularly sassy mood. (And I'm pretty darn sassy, of late...so I use this often!) I apply it to my arms (a few drops + unscented lotion), and then dab a bit behind my ears and on my wrists. It also comes in a convenient rollerball, so I carry it with me in my bag. Ingredients include Fractionated Coconut Oil, Cardamom Seed, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger Rhizome, Clove Bud, Sandalwood Wood, Jasmine Flower Absolute, Vanilla Bean Absolute, and Damiana Leaf.

Elevation: This is the perfect blend when you're having a low-energy day - its sweet, floral, citrus aroma is energizing and refreshing. Its a unique blend that provides an invigorating combination of essential oils - the perfect start to a positive and uplifting day! Ingredients include Lavandin Flower, Lavender Flower, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Tangerine Peel, Melissa Flower, Ylang Ylang Flower, Elemi Resin, Osmanthus Flower, and Lemon Myrtle Leaf essential oils.

These are just a few of the essential oils I use in my daily life (and yes, it’s true…I’m a self-proclaimed essential oils junkie). Please note that not all essential oils are created equally – quality matters, and I only recommend one brand.
